Under Part 1 of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 there is a right – with few exceptions – to responsible non-motorised access, for recreational and other purposes to land and inland water throughout Scotland. The availability of total access and movement adds a significant feeling of freedom to the glens, munroes and highlands which, while not totally wild, feel very different to the almost completely domesticated landscapes of England. The panoramic view westwards along the glen is considered to be one of the most spectacular and beautiful in Scotland, experienced in heavy cloud with bright sun it is a place where human influence is overshadowed by the force of nature.
